Eligibility Requirements

 

To be considered for the Department of Agriculture Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizenship

  • Completed Grade 12 with a Bachelor's pass (minimum 60% in Mathematics or Agricultural Sciences and English)

  • Accepted or currently enrolled at a recognized South African university for an agriculture-related qualification

  • Demonstrated financial need (combined household income not exceeding R350,000 per annum)

  • Strong academic record with minimum 60% average

  • Must be willing to work in rural agricultural development after graduation

  • Not in receipt of any other government-funded bursary
