Rand Water is the largest water utility in Africa, providing bulk water supply to over 11 million people across Gauteng and other parts of South Africa.

 

About the Bursary Programme

 

Rand Water is offering Bursaries for the 2027 Academic year to students pursuing water and civil engineering related qualifications.

 

Fields of Study

  • Civil Engineering

  • Water Engineering

  • Environmental Health

  • Chemistry

 

Eligibility Requirements

 

To be considered for the Rand Water Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizenship

  • Completed Grade 12 with strong results in Mathematics and Science (minimum 60% each)

  • Accepted or currently enrolled at a recognized South African university

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Strong academic record with minimum 65% average

  • Must be willing to work at Rand Water after graduation

  • Not in receipt of any other government-funded bursary

 

Required Documents

 

Applicants must submit the following documents with their application:

  • Certified copy of South African ID document

  • Certified copy of Grade 12 certificate

  • Full academic record (if currently studying)

  • Proof of acceptance or registration at a recognized institution

  • A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • A motivational letter detailing your career goals

  • Proof of household income (parents'/guardians' salary advices or affidavit)
